Why Work With Me?

Choosing the right professional to evaluate or support your child is a deeply personal decision. Families come to me during moments that can feel overwhelming, confusing, or hopeful—and they deserve clarity, compassion, and expertise they can rely on. As a Child Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 20+ years of experience, I specialize in Autism and ADHD evaluation and treatment for children, teens, and young adults. My goal is simple: to help your family feel understood, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

I bring extensive training and clinical depth to every assessment. I am research-reliably trained in the ADOS-2, the gold standard tool for diagnosing Autism. This level of training ensures that the evaluation process is accurate, developmentally sensitive, and grounded in best practices. Beyond the ADOS-2, I am also trained in neurodiversity-affirming assessment models, which means I focus on understanding the whole person—not just checking boxes or labeling behaviors. I believe evaluations should be clinically precise, but also respectful, validating, and meaningful.

Because Autism and ADHD often overlap with learning differences, anxiety, giftedness, language delays, and a variety of developmental profiles, I use a comprehensive approach. I assess not only symptoms, but also strengths, interests, barriers, and real-world functioning. This approach allows families to receive a clear, practical roadmap that extends beyond a diagnosis and supports long-term success.

Expertise You Can Trust

Every child and young adult I work with has their own way of communicating, learning, connecting, and moving through the world. My practice is grounded in a strengths-based approach, which means I look for what your child does well—their talents, passions, and potential. These strengths become the foundation of my recommendations and are woven throughout my evaluation reports, feedback sessions, and treatment plans.

I also believe deeply in collaboration. While I bring professional expertise, you bring expertise about your child. You know their personality, their history, their challenges, and the nuances that only a parent can understand. That combination—clinical training + parental insight—is what leads to a truly tailored, individualized experience. I partner closely with families, answering questions, clarifying options, and helping you make decisions that feel right for your values and your child’s future.

A Strengths-Based, Collaborative Approach

In addition to my clinical work, I am the mother of a neurodivergent son. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate early concerns, recommendations, evaluations, acronyms, waitlists, and conflicting advice. I also know the joy, pride, and fierce love that come with raising a neurodivergent child. This dual perspective helps me approach every family with empathy and respect.

Parents often tell me that they feel seen when they talk with me—that I “get it” in a way that feels grounding and reassuring. While my work is firmly based on research and evidence-based practice, my lived experience helps me understand the emotional landscape you may be navigating. I strive to make the process feel easier, more understandable, and far less stressful.

A Psychologist—and a Parent Who Gets It

Comprehensive Evaluations for Ages 18 Months to 25 Years

I evaluate clients across a wide age range—from toddlers as young as 18 months to young adults up to age 25. Development looks different at each stage of life, and the evaluation process must reflect those unique needs. Whether you are seeking clarity about early signs of Autism, exploring ADHD symptoms in childhood or adolescence, or helping a college student or young adult better understand their learning and attention profile, I tailor the assessment to developmental context.

For younger children, my evaluations focus on communication, play, social engagement, early learning skills, and behavior. For school-age children and teens, I incorporate academic functioning, executive skills, peer relationships, mental health, and functional needs. For young adults, assessments often explore identity, independence, daily living skills, educational planning, and transition supports. Across all ages, my goal is to provide a clear understanding of both what your child needs and what helps them thrive.

After the evaluation, I spend time ensuring that families fully understand the results. You will never leave a session with more questions than answers. I offer clear explanations, grounded recommendations, and step-by-step guidance so you feel confident about your next steps.

Because my background bridges psychology and applied behavior analysis, I integrate insights from multiple evidence-based fields. This allows me to recommend strategies and supports that are developmentally appropriate, realistic, and aligned with your family’s values. Whether you are exploring therapy options, school supports, or home-based strategies, I help you identify what is both effective and meaningful.

Evidence-Based Guidance and Practical Next Steps

No two clients or families are alike. Cultural background, home routines, values, learning styles, and personality all shape what works—and what doesn’t. That’s why I take time to get to know your child’s world. My approach is individualized, respectful, and collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all. Families often share that my recommendations feel achievable, personal, and aligned with who their child truly is.

Support Tailored to Your Family

I offer in-person appointments in Houston, TX and virtual appointments across Texas, California, and 42 other PSYPACT-participating states. Virtual assessments and consultations are ideal for families who need flexibility, live outside Houston, or prefer a home-based setting. Whether we meet in person or online, I ensure the process is thorough, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

In-Person and Virtual Appointments

When you choose to work with me, you’re not just getting a diagnosis or report—you’re gaining a partner who is invested in your child’s long-term success. My mission is to help families feel hopeful, informed, and empowered. Together, we will explore your child’s strengths, understand their needs, and find the right path forward so they can flourish at home, at school, and in the community.
